TESS GERRITSEN's Books

The other day, one of my business acquaintances gave me a lot of - nearly 100 paperbacks. And she said she has read these books and usually after reading she throw them away.

Last year, she noticed I read English books. So she bring paperbacks for me twice. Almost all were thriller books. And I didn't have much interest in them at that time.
But, one day I picked up a TESS's book 'VANISH', and I immediately found it was interesting.

After that, I have read another same author's books - THE SURGEON, THE APPRENTICE, BODY DOUBLE, and now reading THE SINNER.

All these books are a series about brutal muder and a female detective and a female medical examiner(検視官).

The author who was a physician, is a female Chinese-American and it seems she accuses male's tendency to commit brutal crime.

These books have a lot of medical terms which I cann't understand. But style of writing is clean and compact. So you don't worry about to enjoy the books.

Hi, Ken. Thank you for sharing information about these enjoyable books. I'm not a thriller fan but I might try some of them like you did since I got some from friends as well. I actually got nearly 50 books from my ex-neighbor who went back to his country, England ten years ago. He left me lots of novels. But most of them are classics and they are tough ones to challenge. They have been sitting on my bookshelf and waiting to be picked nearly 10 years. Poor books, you know. They could have been appreciated if ther were handed to someone appropriate. Ummm.... Since you reminded me of those books, I might pick some and see if I can enjoy them now. Thanks!

Yeah, you're right. My books is also sitting on the shelves and covered with dust.

When I got so many books, I was thrilled, but at the same time, I was afraid if I can read them within next 30 years!!

Hi! This is Ken.

I started reading TESS GERRITSEN's 'The Mefhisto Club' today.
The hard cover edition of this book was published last year, but mass-market edition was released last month.

This time, as usual, my English-book GIVER, who is one of my acquaintance and she likes mystery & thrillers a lot,
gave the book this morning with another 10 or 11 paperbacks!

To tell the truth, I was actually looking forward to get the book from her.
Because I like TESS GERRITSEN's Jane Rizzoli and Dr. Maura series. It is very interesting.

The book has 429 pages, so it has almost 110,000 words.
But I'm sure it would accelerate my daily reading.
I hope to report about this book in the near future.
