------------------------------

Hello.

I, Banana, wanted to buy a guide book of Hong Kong in Hong Kong.
I didn't prepare enjoying a visit for Hong Kong,
so I didn't have a information of sightseeing of Honk Kong.

I asked to my 同僚
'Please tell me the way to a book store near here.'

But he said
'There are few book stores in Hong Kong.'
'A Japanese 百貨店 has it. But I know only it.'

Yes, when I walked in main streets of Honk Kong,
I didn't find book stores.

Of course, there are 7-elevens, that sell magazines.
And along street, there are 露天, that sell magazines.
But that's all.

Uuuuuum,
I didn't believe there were no book store.
I don't believe there are no book store.
If no book stores in Japan,
If I don't have a book to read,
I can't imagine that if.

Do you know why there are few book stores in Hong Kong?
Please tell me why !

Bye-bye

Hello, Banana-san.
I'm naong.

〉I, Banana, wanted to buy a guide book of Hong Kong in Hong Kong.
〉I didn't prepare enjoying a visit for Hong Kong,
〉so I didn't have a information of sightseeing of Honk Kong.

Oh! I'm planning to visit Hong Kong on 31st Dec. to 3rd Jan,
and want to go to book stores.

〉I asked to my 同僚
〉'Please tell me the way to a book store near here.'

〉But he said
〉'There are few book stores in Hong Kong.'
〉'A Japanese 百貨店 has it. But I know only it.'

〉Yes, when I walked in main streets of Honk Kong,
〉I didn't find book stores.

Really?
When I visited Hong Kong about four years ago,
I bought a guide book, "香港街道地方指南 (Hong Kong Guidebook)",
at the book store somewhere in Kowloon.
I don't know exactly where it is.

(This is very useful even now.
This map also has the route and the number of bus all over the Hong Kong.
I'll buy the new version next month.)

〉Uuuuuum,
〉I didn't believe there were no book store.
〉I don't believe there are no book store.
〉If no book stores in Japan,
〉If I don't have a book to read,
〉I can't imagine that if.

So do I.
But I think there are some book stores there.
When I searched by Google for this trip, I found two stores.

1. 星光圖書中心 near 香港酒店 in Kowloon
2. 銅鑼灣圖書中心 near 百利保広場 in Hong Kong Island

But I don't know how many books they have.
I think they have English books, maybe.
I'll tell you after this trip.

Bye-bye!

Ummm, うらやましいなー
My visit was very short.
But it was very fun.

I went to the Peak,
I rode a cable-car from the Peak to town,
I rode a ferry on Hong Kong sea,
I went to eat 中華料理,
I walked along seaside,

very very fun.

My best favourite place is seaside road.
There are a lot of 手形 of Hong Kong movie stars.
I found handprints of Jakie Chan there,
I found ones of サモ・ハン・キン・ポー here,
Jet Lee, and Michel Hoi( do you know him?)

I love Hong Kong movies.
So I had loved to walk looking handprints of Hong Kong movie stars.

Oh!
Please write from now on!

Oh! I have one thing to say to you.

In Hong Kong,
I write TOUKOU on this board.
Of course, in a hotel in Hong Kong,
You can use PC , connecting to Internet.
But you need to pay for that.

I found free PC connecting Internet in Hong Kong.

In Kowloon
along seaside
there is a hotel, whose name is NEW WORLD RENAISSANCE KOWLOON HOTEL
In the hotel, 2nd floor
there is a terrace viewing sea and seaside.
In the terrace
there is a free-use-PC on a wall.
But keyboard is for English.
You can not type Japanese.

So you write TOUKOU only in English.
It means that you should write TOUKOU on this board from Hong Kong!

If you write,
please write ' from Hong Kong'.
I will reply to yours !

Bye bye

Hi, Banana-san.
Nice to see you, too.

I love the cable-car between Peak and town.
Isn't it very 傾斜がきつい ?

サモ・ハン・キン・ポー!
なつかしい〜!
When I was a child, I used to watch his films with my brother.
He DID love Hong Kong カンフー movies.
(I forgot their titles...)

Michael Hoi...I've heard his name.
I Googled.
I think I've seen him in some films.
Is he famous, as Hoi-Brothers (they are three) ?
I've read about them in some books about Hong Kong movie.

〉I love Hong Kong movies.
〉So I had loved to walk looking handprints of Hong Kong movie stars.

Me too! Me too!
I was crazy about Hong Kong movie in 1990's.
I'll find the handprint of my favorite star, Tony Leung, at the seaside road.
(On my first visit to Hong Kong, I believed I could meet him somewhere!
But I don't throw away this hope even now.)

and so on.

It's very kind of you to tell me such a useful information and

Thank you.

Hello, Banana-san and Naong-san,

I've been in Hong Kong for 3 years and a half.
I enjoyed Chinese food, busy market streets, Star Ferry,

I'm happy to know that Banana-san enjoyd Hong Kong.

Oh, Banana-san and Naong-san,
Don't be disappointed.
YES! There IS a nice bookshop in Hong Kong.

It's just across the Landmark Tower.
From the south-east corner of the Landmark Tower, cross the intersection diagonally. Enter the building at the south-east corner of the intersection, and go down to the basement.
Since the shop is not on the 1st Floor, it might not be easy to find it.

It's a big shop and you'll find good books for 多読.
I bought many English books there when I was in Hong Kong.
I hope the shop still has a good variety of books.

Nong-san, please enjoy your trip to Hong Kong.
Try Yamucha, and fantastic Chinese food!
And don't forget to enjoy the Holiday iluminations!

May
