I also had read "The Curious Incident of the dog in the midnight".
This book is for grownups, because it includes words related sex.
But almost sentences are very short and easy except talking phrases of grownups.
I think use short sentences for writing statements is good idea for practice.
Because a long sentence is build up with short sentences.
Then next step is making long sentence with easy words.
"Wonderful Wisard of OZ" is include many long sentences with easy words.
Reading this book also should be good practice for writing.
