Emil and the Detectives の原書（の英訳）の Introductionは飛ばそう！

　くまくまさん、７０万語通過おめでとうございます。お祝いレスもせずこんなところで反応して

〉〉原書の英訳は軽い気持ちで買ってしまって、１ページ目で玉砕しました。６０万語くらいの時だったかなあ。あとで書評をみたらレベル６。本はよく書評をみてから買おうと思いました。

　Wakkaさんが玉砕されたというのは、Introductionを読まれたからではないでしょうか？
　わたしも初め、このIntroductionから話が始まるんだと思って、読んでみたら、何が何だか
　さっぱりわからず、くじけそうになりました。
　このIntroductionは読まなくてもよいものです。やたらと難しいので、飛ばしましょう。
　Chapter 1 から読んでください。

　本文自体は、わたしはレベル５ぐらいではないかと思います。感じ方ですけど。
　冒頭を引用してみます。

　"Now then, Emil," Mrs Tischbein said, "just carry in that jug of hot
　water for me, will you." She picked up one jug and a little blue bowl
　of liquid camomile shampoo, and hurried out of the kitchen into the
　front room. Emil took his jug and followed her.
　　There was a woman sitting there with her head bent over a white
　wash-basin. Her long fair hair was loose and hung down like three
　hanks of wool over her face so that Emil could not see who it was.
　His mother poured the shampoo over the woman's head, and asked,
　"Is that too hot?"
　　"No, that's all right," came the reply, and Mrs Tischbein rubbed it
　in until it made a foamy white mop all over the customer's head.

　この、原作（の英訳）は、何回でも読みたくなるぐらい素晴らしいです。
　ぜひぜひ読んでいただきたいです。
